The Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship

The Pickering Undergraduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship seeks to recruit talented students in academic programs relevant to international affairs, political and economic analysis, administration, management, and science policy. The goal is to attract outstanding students from all ethnic, racial, and social backgrounds who have an interest in pursuing a Foreign Service career in the U.S. Department of State. The Program develops a source of trained men and women from academic disciplines representing the skill needs of the Department, who are dedicated to representing America's interests abroad.

The Pickering Undergraduate Fellowship selects undergraduate students in their junior year of college. Prospective master's degree students may apply to the Pickering Graduate Foreign Affairs Fellowship.

- Go to the Center's home page.
- On the left is the login for Careers4Terps.
- Select Student or Alumni.
- Login and/or register.
- On the main page of your Careers4Terps account, click the link to Focus 2.

Once on the FOCUS 2 site, create an account. The access code is: goterps. You will be able to choose your own username and password when registering.

This program allows employers to serve as "career advisors" to students seeking help. Employers participate in our daily rotation by providing career advice to students, in a 1-on-1 setting, on issues ranging from resume assistance to answering the question "how do I get a job like yours?” Come learn about ways you can improve your skills and get feedback from industry professionals about what they look for in a candidate. NSA recruiters can also answer questions about the NSA screening/hiring process.
