The Maryland Social Entrepreneur Corps Wants You!

Summer 2013: Maryland Social Entrepreneur Corps

This summer UMD will launch the Maryland Social Entrepreneur Corps, an eight-week overseas study and internship program that will enable UMD students to work side by side with development professionals in designing and supporting MicroConsignment businesses in rural Nicaragua. The program will start with an intensive, two-week course on the concepts of social entrepreneurship, to be taught on the UMD campus from April 15th to the 26th by Greg Van Kirk, co-cofounder of the Social Entrepreneur Corps and a leading expert in economic development. Students will then travel to Nicaragua for 8 weeks of additional training and carefully structured, closely supervised fieldwork. More information about the program may be found at: http://ter.ps/umdsecorps
