Disability Mentoring Day

Job shadowing opportunities related to a variety of fields including sales and marketing, public relations, human resources, information technology, and many more in the financial services sector. The American Association of People with Disabilities is preparing for several October initiatives including Disability Mentoring Day (DMD) and Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). Participants do not need to have a background in finance, only an interest in pursuing a career in the financial services sector. Our partner is offering job shadowing opportunities related to a variety of fields including sales and marketing, public relations, human resources, information technology, and many more. Students and alumni interested in participating should email their resume to DMD@aapd.com and indicate their area of interest.  Applicants should be available all day on October 17, 2013 and live in the Washington DC or Baltimore metro area. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to interact with representatives of our outstanding graduate programs here at the University of Maryland. They will also learn about the processes for applying to graduate schools and financing their graduate education from noted speaker and author, Donald Asher. In addition, they will hear from current University of Maryland students about success strategies for graduate studies. The deadline for priority registration is Wednesday, October 16, 2013.
