Position Announcement Appropriate for Recent Grad

Coordinator Position 119437

The University of Maryland, College Park is seeking a Coordinator to help support two exciting, high impact experiential learning programs, Federal Semester and Global Semester in Washington, D.C. These programs take advantage of our location in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area to prepare talented, diverse undergraduate students to excel in significant internships and become leaders in the international or domestic arena. The programs combine theme-based fall seminar courses taught by industry experts on such topics as health policy, homeland security policy, and U.S. foreign policy; professional development workshops; field trips; and other policy-related learning experiences; with spring internships supported by coursework and reflective exercises.

We seek a full-time Coordinator who will actively contribute to the programs’ goals to prepare students for informed and responsible global and domestic leadership and citizenship. A key responsibility of this Coordinator will be the crucial operations of database management and enhancement for these two programs; this includes using the database to generate ad hoc reports. Other important responsibilities include event planning and programming (including field trips and final capstone event); managing the admissions review process; assisting with student advising on resumes, cover letters, and self-reflective posters; and providing course support, including monitoring student assignments. The Coordinator will serve on the strategic advisory team for these programs. The office is collaborative, high-energy, and good-humored.
