Student Sustainability Task Force

The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS) is creating a student Sustainability Task Force. Project oriented in nature, the student group will use an interdisciplinary approach to address the sustainability problems and opportunities in the BSOS College.

We are looking for students who can dedicate one hour per week for a meeting and strategy session, as well as carry out discipline-specific tasks throughout the week that contribute to accomplishing the group project. Students from BSOS will be given higher priority in filling available seats on the task force. A meeting schedule will not be set until all interested parties have been polled for the best time to meet.

If you are interested in tackling and solving a sustainability problem on campus with tangible results at the end of each semester, please contact the BSOS Sustainability Coordinator, Amee Bearne at abearne@umd.edu, with the following information by Friday, September 19, 2014:

Year in school:
Do you live on campus or off campus?
What interests you about the task force?
What do you hope to do with sustainability in your post-college career?
Will you be able to dedicate one hour per week to meeting with the task force?
Will you be able to dedicate unscheduled time on your own to accomplish small, individual tasks?
