Research Opportunities with the Black Families Research Group

Are you interested in the experiences of African American youth? Do you have a passion to impact the lives of African American families and communities?

The Black Families Research group conducts research that examines parenting practices, parent-child dynamics, youth identity development, school climate and so much more!

Undergraduates who are interested in gaining research experience with this population are encouraged to contact bfrg.umd@gmail.com and request a research assistant application.

Ideal candidates are those who able to work both independently and collaboratively, and aspire to obtain a graduate degree and/or plan to pursue professional work that will involve research. Expected commitment is estimated at 9 hours a week. Earning course credit is an option. All majors are welcome!
