Workshop: Creating a Research Poster in the Social Sciences

Have you been involved in academic research as an undergraduate, either as an individual or as part of a team, at Maryland or beyond? Would you like the opportunity to present your work in Poster format at Maryland¹s largest, most visible and diversified showcase for undergraduate research accomplishments?

The Maryland Center for Undergraduate Research is offering presentations for humanities and social sciences majors interested in learning how to communicate their research effectively using the Poster format. The workshops will cover principles of good poster design, organization of information, and strategies for printing and presenting your poster.

Knowing how to present research effectively is an important skill for undergraduates that may be applied to future academic and professional experiences. This workshop should also be helpful to students planning to participate in Undergraduate Research Day, which will be held on campus on April 29, 2015.

Please RSVP to ugresearch@umd.edu with the subject line “Poster Workshop” and the date/time you wish to attend. Workshops will take place in the MCUR office, 2100D McKeldin Library, across from the Learning Commons. More information can be found on the MCUR website at http://www.ugresearch.umd.edu/researchposter.php.
