HDR is currently in need of Economists for our Economics and Finance practice in Silver Spring MD. These individuals will be expected to conduct primary and secondary research to support the formulation of analytical solutions, the development of economic models, and the interpretation of results for projects with our civil engineer environmental and architectural business groups. They will collect and review existing research and assess the applicability of results to the problem at hand. These duties require a sound knowledge of economic and econometric methods. They may work independently on projects or assist senior economists.
Masters in Economics strongly preferred minimum of Bachelors in Economics or related field required. 1+ years equivalent experience with an emphasis on the application and interpretation of research in public infrastructure or related topics is preferred though entry-level candidates will be considered. Experience in conceptualizing and developing economic or business models using analytical methods is required. Knowledge of economic and econometric methods is needed. Experience with analytical packages and/or programming languages (SAS, Eviews, SPSS, Visual Basic etc.) and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows Excel Power Point and Access is required. Position requires an individual with the ability to interact with clients on a regular basis.
