Project Development & Research Internship with Mississippi Consortium for International Development

The Mississippi Consortium for International Development (MCID), established in 1989, represents a collaborative endeavor of four historically Black institutions of higher learning in Mississippi: Alcorn State University; Jackson State University; Mississippi Valley State University; and Tougaloo College. The Consortium manages and implements international exchange and development training projects.

Position description

• Support staff with various aspects of IVLP project implementation
• Research a broad range of programmatic policy areas/topics ranging from good governance and economic development to environmental tourism and disability issues
• Meet and engage with international visitors from around the world
• Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to help develop and coordinate international exchange programs
• Help update website and social media sites
• Assist with building MCID’s internal resource database

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing BS/BA in international relations or related discipline
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; attention to detail 
  • Interest in public diplomacy and international affairs
  • Proficient in MS Office; social media savvy; WordPress skills strongly preferred
