Event and Communications Planner Position with the Korea Economic Institute of America

The Korea Economic Institute of America (KEI) is a not-for-profit policy and educational outreach organization focused on promoting dialogue and understanding between the United States and Korea. Established in 1982, KEI began by concentrating on economic issues, but over its 30 year history, has become the premier U.S.-Korea policy institute in Washington, D.C. covering all aspects of the alliance, including national security, broader regional affairs, and Korean American issues.
KEI seeks a qualified individual to join its staff to become involved in all aspects of the institute, from running the logistics of all of KEI’s programs to maintaining KEI’s website, videos, podcasts, and audio-visual equipment.
• Manage detailed logistical arrangements and details for all KEI programs
• Maintain and create partnerships with vendors and related companies for KEI staff and KEI guests
• Oversee all audio/visual equipment, including simultaneous translation devices
• Production of PowerPoints, event live-streams, and video and podcast editing
• Website design and management (Drupal and Wordpress preferred)
• Market and promote programs through e-mail and other methods
• Sensitivity to cultural difference and ability to professionally work with distinguished individuals
• Work with staff to manage KEI’s schedule of programs
• Coordinate with Office Manager on the maintenance of KEI facilities 


• Must hold Bachelor’s Degree or higher
• Background or experience with Asia
• Experience in program/event management
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Ability to be proactive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal and consensus building skills required to work collaboratively and to lead through decision-making
• Experience with audio/video production and management
• Experience with web design and maintenance
• Experience with mass mailing software
• Experience with graphic design
• Comfortable working in a team environment
• Ability to maintain and coordinate program budgets
• Ability to function both independently as well as part of a team in a small, congenial office environment.
• Some travel required 
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
