Events, Marketing & Communications Coordinator Position Appropriate for Recent Grad

This position will help guide the association in the execution of a detailed and strategic communication, events and marketing plan that includes but is not limited to social media engagement, database management, event planning, and member and communications support. In addition, they will assist with various data and analysis projects on behalf of FDRA’s members.
The candidate can expect to grow in this role, enhancing their professional skills and taking on new tasks to match their interests within the organization. They can also learn a great deal about the political process, media relations, marketing and communications, and the issues impacting businesses.
Responsibilities to Include:
  • Lead social media communications and FDRA website management
  • Assist with press releases and communication pieces
  • Assist with the development of marketing materials and newsletters
  • Maintain the organization’s membership database
  • Assist with meetings on Capitol Hill and around Washington, DC
  • Event and activity support for events around the globe
  • Enhancing membership services, editing and other general administrative duties/projects as assigned.
  • Travel to workshops/conferences may be required anywhere from 1-3 times per year (< 10%), including NYC and the LA area.


Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of prior professional experience and demonstrate initiative, creativity, persistence and a willingness to learn.
The following skills are required:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Diplomacy, tact and a strong customer service ethic
  • Proficiency using database programs
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects; grace under pressure
  • Excellent communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working and communicating with senior-level executives
