Program Assistant Position with the German Marshall Fund of the United States
The Foreign and Security Policy (FSP) Program in Washington, DC seeks an energetic, detail-oriented full-time Program Assistant to work on various projects.
The Program Assistant will support GMF’s Foreign and Security Policy Program’s day-to-day activities.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Provide logistical, scheduling, and event coordination and support;
Serve as a point-of-contact for GMF’s Washington-based convening
Research as needed;
Prepare event memos and reports as needed;
Answer general program questions and facilitate internal office coordination across programs;
Coordinate travel arrangements;
Maintain the InterAction database;
Draft invites and write-ups for GMF events in Washington, DC;
Assist in the management of GMF’s FSP DC internship program;
Assist in the implementation and management of GMF DC’s Young Transatlantic Network;
Assist in budget and financial management
Fluency in English. Second language skills are desirable but not necessary.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is essential.
Flexibility to multi-task, have an eye for details, perform under tight deadlines and able to work independently.
Experience in event management a plus.
Strong interest in transatlantic policy issues.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
