Required Knowledge Skills and Competencies:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience. • Successful completion of a Stanley Background investigation; including criminal, education, employment, credit and driving record checks. • An INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; and thereafter a SECRET security clearance must be maintained for the duration of employment. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to prioritize and organize workload. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. • Ability to learn and recall information about provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act and the Foreign Affairs Manual. • Ability to take initiative and respond to changing circumstances of both office goals and priorities and diplomatic interactions. • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collegial atmosphere; ability to maintain composure in highly stressful situations.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
• Knowledge of general U.S. foreign policy and international system of bilateral and multilateral diplomacy. • Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, or related area. • 2+ years of experience
