Visa Analyst Position with CGI

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to work autonomously once provided adequate direction, critical thinking skills
• Ability to read and understand federal regulations such as the Foreign Affairs Manual 
• Ability to draft concise, yet informative responses to posts and partner agencies inquiries based on the above, and to produce other related written products
• Ability to provide oral briefings to partner agencies, department officers, local area peers, and VO leadership 
• Ability to develop collaborative relationships with other stakeholder offices (in person) and officers in the field
• Maintain knowledge and purpose of a number of automated databases and understand how they interact with other automated systems.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details
• Skill in utilizing software applications, with the ability to perform administrative functions and to create spreadsheets and reports

Qualifications

Required Knowledge Skills and Competencies:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year relevant work experience.
• Successful completion of a Stanley Background investigation; including criminal, education, employment, credit and driving record checks.
• An INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; and thereafter a SECRET security clearance must be maintained for the duration of employment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Ability to learn and recall information about provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act and the Foreign Affairs Manual.
• Ability to take initiative and respond to changing circumstances of both office goals and priorities and diplomatic interactions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collegial atmosphere; ability to maintain composure in highly stressful situations.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

• Knowledge of general U.S. foreign policy and international system of bilateral and multilateral diplomacy.
• Bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, or related area.
• 2+ years of experience
