The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) seeks a communication intern as it prepares to celebrate its 50th anniversary through special events and digital projects.
If you love visiting museums, watching documentaries and learning about history and culture, then NEH is the right fit for you! NEW is looking for communications interns for the fall of 2015. They will be looking for someone with a strong writing and communication skills in addition to a passion for the humanities. This internship will be a great opportunity for anyone who wants experience in communications on a federal level.
Duties will include drafting press releases, contacting media, updating press lists, media monitoring, and helping research for the various projects NEH is working on.
Interns must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner, be professional, and pay close attention to detail. Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Wordpress, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, and Lexus Nexis is appreciated. It is important that the intern is a team player that can work and communicate with a large group or people.
DETAILS AND HOW TO APPLY
Internships are unpaid but do provide full reimbursement for work related travel as well as school credit. The intern should be able to commit to at least 3 days a week or around 20 hours.
