Assistant Editor for Intellectual History, Libertarianism.org


The Cato Institute is seeking applications for a full-time position located in DC as Assistant Editor for Intellectual History at Libertarianism.org. The individual in this role will be contributing to the content on Libertarianism.org. The ideal candidate will be well-read in the libertarian intellectual tradition and have a demonstrated record of writing about libertarian ideas. If you are passionate about intellectual history on libertarianism or have an interest to learn you might be just who we are looking for. 
Responsibilities:
  • Expanding Libertarianism.org’s collection of classic libertarian works
  • Selecting, editing, and writing brief prefaces for excerpts from important texts
  • Write essays for Libertarianism.org on topics within libertarian intellectual history
  • Overseeing addition of full-length books and magazines in various downloadable formats
  • Working with narrators and Libertarianism.org’s A/V staff to create audio editions of our essays and books

Qualifications

  • Exceptional writing and proof-reading skills will be important
  • Deep knowledge or passion about libertarian intellectual tradition
