Entry-Level Political Analyst Job with Morning Consult

DESCRIPTION

Morning Consult is one of D.C.'s fastest growing polling and digital media companies.
Morning Consult produces actionable polling and market research data on the most relevant policy and business issues. Our weekly national polls are conducted among 2,000 registered voters for use by our digital media company, Fortune 500 clients, and industry trade associations. Our polls have been cited by over 100 media outlets, including Bloomberg, USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post. We are looking to expand our data and polling teams immediately.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting all aspects of the online survey research process writing survey questionnaires collaboratively with clients, overseeing data collection, analyzing final data and presenting findings.
  • Continuously generate ideas to improve data collection methods and quality.
Requirements
  • Expertise writing survey questionnaires.
  • Experience administering and analyzing surveys.
  • Experience with statistical software (preferably R).
  • Experience with online survey design, online survey panels and weighting methodologies.
  • Knowledge of descriptive/inferential statistics
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to balance numerous tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Familiarity with U.S. politics, specifically healthcare, energy, finance, and technology.
  • Excellent level of attention to detail
  • Experience developing research questions and designing experiments (i.e., a/b testing, hypothesis testing, power calculations)
Recommended
  • Familiar with Qualtrics and Amazons Mechanical Turk
  • Familiar with web development languages (JS, HTML, PHP, etc.), APIs, verion control (e.g., Git/SVN), LaTeX, and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
