Winter/Spring Diversity Internship with NPR

Overview:
The Diversity intern is someone with a passion for helping public radio bring the best of this diverse country to public radio.

In this role, you'll touch all parts of NPR news and the network of public radio stations across the country, helping in our efforts to look and sound like America. You'll use your skills in reporting and social media to make the Source of the Week resource a valuable asset to journalists at NPR and across the country. In the process you’ll learn as much as your curiosity can handle about radio and digital journalism from some of the country’s most skilled practitioners.
Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the production, growth and innovative vision of NPR’s Source of the Week Tumblr, reporting, researching and collaborating with member stations
  • Make occasional contributions to the Code Switch blog
  • Work with NPR's Member Partnership staff to promote the Tumblr
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong social media skills
  • An interest in matters of race, ethnicity and culture
