Communications Associate Position for December Grad

The InSight Communications Associate will assist all InSight departments with creating internal and external communications that properly convey our organization??s message. The communications associate will be in charge of creating, editing, updating and distributing all InSight communications across a variety of mediums. The communications associate needs to be skilled at adjusting messaging to different audiences including healthcare providers, consumers and executives. The InSight communications associate will be a valued marketing department team member and serve under the InSight marketing and communications manager.
Job Functions Include:
  • Write and manage all organizational social media content
  • Create, distribute and track all organizational newsletters
  • Manage our organizational blog (The InSight Bulletin)
  • Create and maintain a content calendar
  • Edit contributors?? posts
  • Write original content
  • Maintain up to date content on all organizational websites
  • Maintain a catalog of all InSight materials
  • Edit and update all InSight marketing materials on a regular basis
  • Create, edit and update organizational resources, handouts, emails and other content for all InSight departments
  • Research, write and edit white papers
  • Write and distribute press releases on relevant organizational news
  • Research and write advocacy pieces (letters, emails, blogs etc.) on topical industry issues
  • Write and edit advertisement text
  • Conduct research and literature reviews for special projects
  • Track industry news and distribute relevant information internally and externally as appropriate
  • Contribute to with projects stemming from work with a PR firm
  • Help with writing and research for proposals
  • Conduct proactive outreach to relevant journalists, bloggers and media
  • Assist with requests for contributions to media
  • Contribute to internal communications and engagement projects
  • Support other marketing department projects
  • All other duties, as assigned
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Editing experience required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with behavioral health or telemedicine strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to adjust messaging to different audiences
  • Experience creating social media content for a business or organization strongly preferred
  • Experience working with CS5 (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator specifically) preferred
  • Experience using WordPress preferred
  • Comfortable working with a remote team
  • Position available January 1, 2016
  • Position based in Washington DC
  • Some opportunity for telework 1-2 days/ week or flex schedule options
  • Reports to the InSight Marketing Manager
