The Pathways to Apprenticeship (PTA) Training Program is designed to introduce the participant to performing a variety of analytical, writing and monitoring functions related to workforce development issues, programs, and projects.

This is a one (1) year apprenticeship with progressive training and skill requirement. Training is provided at the Department's expense. (Apprentices may be required to attend formal classroom instruction which must be completed during the apprentice program, including attendance of classes on own time, if required, i.e. evening or Saturday classes). Successful completion of the apprenticeship program is contingent upon evaluation/review by the Apprentice committee/board. If all components of the apprenticeship program are not completed successfully, the participant will be removed from the Apprenticeship program.

A. Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education;


B. Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor’s degree.

Qualified candidates will be considered in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Pathways Guidelines.

To be eligible for appointment, you must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment on at least a half-time basis at a qualifying educational institution, for the purpose of obtaining a diploma, degree, or certificate.
