The National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), a national organization representing 2,800 local health departments has an opening for a Government Affairs Intern. This position will have an opportunity to work in policy and advocacy across public health issue areas including emergency preparedness, food safety, chronic disease prevention, infectious disease prevention and funding for local health departments.
Government Affairs Internship
Under the direction of the Director of Government Affairs, the Government Affairs Internship is an unpaid intern opportunity designed for students to obtain relevant volunteer work experience to be competitive for future positions in the public health arena, with a focus on policy and advocacy.
The MAPP Intern is responsible for supporting the work of NACCHO’s Assessment and Planning team. The intern will provide communications support for NACCHO’s website, newsletters, and social network. The intern will also write summary reports and participate in team meetings.
