“Terp Talks” Club Looking for Fearless Student Speakers
The Terp Talks club is a student organization that puts on TED Talks style speaking showcases. The theme of our showcases is Fearless Thinking, allowing student speakers to show what really makes UMD a "fearless” campus. Our spring showcase will be March 31st, in the Clarice’s beautiful Gildenhorn Theater.
We are looking for students that are interested in speaking at a Terp Talks showcase, as well as students that are interested in helping to organize our showcases.
Speakers will have the invaluable opportunity to work with professional speech coaches as they prepare their Terp Talks. Speakers will also receive a professionally filmed video of their performance, a great resource to take into the job market. We are looking for speakers with interesting topics that highlight innovation, entrepreneurship, and fearlessness in general. If you are interested in speaking at a Terp Talks showcase, even if you're not sure of your topic, please fill out this brief interest form.
Organizers, on the other hand, will be a part of a collaborative, goal-oriented environment, mirroring a real life work situation. We will be putting together the unique skills of a variety of students, in order to put together a significant finished product. We are especially looking for students with experience/interest in marketing, digital media, event planning, business, and entrepreneurship. If you are interested in organizing the Terp Talks showcases, even if you don't have any of the specific skills formerly listed, please fill out this brief organizer interest form.
