Transatlantic Security Program Assistant Position with the Atlantic Council

The Atlantic Council is seeking a talented, dynamic program assistant with a passion for the future of NATO and transatlantic and European security to assist with the execution and development of projects and programs in the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security. 
The program assistant will report primarily to the director of the Scowcroft Center, working closely with the Center’s senior fellows, deputy director, and associate director for the Transatlantic Security Initiative. She or he will assist in the Council’s robust programming on transatlantic security and NATO. She/he will play a central role in developing and organizing program initiatives and activities including: high-level speaker series, policy workshops, conferences, strategy sessions, task forces, foreign travel, and other initiatives.
The Program Assistant will play a strong role in managing and executing the logistics and administrative duties of the Council’s work on NATO and transatlantic security and collaborating with other Atlantic Council programs and centers. She or he will have experience in organizing events and project management, and will possess a demonstrated background and interest in transatlantic security and national and international security more broadly. The successful candidate will have broad knowledge and understanding of critical issues in transatlantic security and defense as well as US security interests in Europe and will be able to work on a diverse range of issues in a team environment. 
The ideal candidate will show strong attention to detail, communicate clearly and effectively, will work well individually and as an integral part of a cohesive team, and will have excellent writing skills. Candidates should be well-organized and able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. She or he must work well with senior officials, as well as program interns, and must work well and collaborate closely with interlocutors from abroad.
The Atlantic Council’s Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security provides thought leadership on NATO and transatlantic security, defense, Strategic Foresight, Cyber Statecraft, and critical regional issues such as Middle East peace and security and Asian security.

International Security Research Assistant Position with CSIS

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.  Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

CSIS is seeking a Research Assistant to join the International Security Program to work on various research projects and help manage event series. She/he reports to Kathleen Hicks, Senior Vice President; Henry A. Kissinger Chair; Director, International Security Program.

Paid Fall Criminal Justice Internship with the National Association of Counties

The National Association of Counties (NACo) has an opening for a criminal justice intern in its Research Department. The intern will provide data collection and research support for the criminal justice specialist in the Research Department.

Public Health Research Assistant Position with the National Opinion Research Center (NORC)


NORC at the University of Chicago is seeking a qualified Research Assistant to support the Public Health Department. NORC is a not-for-profit academic research organization that partners with government, commercial, and nonprofit clients to perform research and disseminate knowledge.

Fall Paid Research Internship with Brookings' Metropolitan Policy Program

This fall internship, beginning in September 2015, is a paid opportunity for undergraduate students in their junior or senior year, recent college graduates or graduate students with an interest in gaining experience and contributing to the work at the world’s leading think tank; and undertaking an independent research/academic project.

Primary Responsibilities

The NAMI Education team is looking for computer-savvy, creative and dedicated interns to assist with a variety of projects key to the success of our NAMI signature education programs.
