Paid Research Assistantships with US Institute of Peace for Recent Grads
The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) is an independent, non-partisan, federally funded organization established and funded by the U.S. Congress to increase the nation’s capacity to manage international conflict without violence. USIP was founded in 1984 to:
Prevent, mitigate and resolve violent international conflict;
Provide analysis on the root causes of conflict;
Increase peacebuilding capacity, education, tools, and intellectual capital among
practitioners and the American public.
Pay: Between $10-14 per hour
Work Schedule: An average of 20 hours per week
Expected Start Date: Immediately
GENERAL ACADEMY RESEARCH ASSISTANT SUMMARY: Research Assistants support the functions of the Academy by working with Program Officers and Academy staff to manage and support on-site courses and Academy events. RAs support various projects throughout the Academy by engaging in research, writing, organizing and editing. They establish relationships with instructors and manage all stages of a course, from inception to completion. RAs are hands-on participants and are essential to the daily activities of the Academy. GLOBAL CAMPUS RESEARCH ASSISTANT SUMMARY: The Global Campus leverages the latest modern communication technologies to extend online education and training opportunities to individuals across the world. The GC RA will support the daily functions of the GC team by engaging in research, website support, QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of 2+ years of related experience is required.
A Bachelor’s degree in international relations, public affairs, or related field required.
Working knowledge of WordPress, and a basic understanding of video editing required.
Must be comfortable working in a group, possess the abilities to prioritize, adjust to
conflicting or changing directions, and be able to handle tight deadlines.
Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
