Paid Fall Government Programs and Events Internship with Consumer Technology Association

Basic Function of the Position: Provide support for the Leaders in Technology Program which takes place during CES 2017. The Leaders in Technology Program provides those who shape technology policy the opportunity to discover and learn about CES first-hand.  The invitation-only program is comprised of Members of Congress and their legislative staff; White House officials; executive and regulatory agency officials and their staff; state legislators and officials from state agencies.
Critical Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as CTA’s first point of contact for speakers/panelists and Congressional Staff attending CTA and CES events, and ensure all logistical questions are answered quickly and efficiently.
  • Provide a strong level of customer service and manage special event RSVP’s.
  • Assist invitees with on-line registration and run registration reports.
  • Prepare and track program invitations
  • Assist invitees with travel arrangements.
Work Experience
  • Event planning experience strongly preferred.
  • Past experience working with high-level officials or on Capitol Hill strongly preferred. 
Education/Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Government or related field preferred or commensurate experience.
Skills/Capabilities/Technical
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage special requests and meet expectations of high-level officials.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Access skills, including mail mergers.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
Additional Information 
  • Must be able to travel to CES 2017 in Las Vegas.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed in December and January.
  • Hourly wage: $15.00/hour.
  • Internship begins in August 2016 with an expected end date of January 2017.
