Speak Spanish? Entry Level Job for Recent Grad: Community Engagement Associate - Marketing and Social Media

The Community Engagement Marketing and Social Media Associate will enhance and maintain a social media and marketing strategy to promote programs and activities sponsored and/or endorsed by the Office of Community Engagement, the University community and off-campus partners.
This is a one-year assignment to develop more professionals in the area of town/gown relations.
The Associate works closely with departments on campus and the Director and staff of the Office of Community Engagement. S/He also recruits student volunteers/interns to assist with the work of the Office.
Due to the nature of the work in community engagement efforts, this position frequently has evening and weekend obligations.

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience:
Minimum of 1 year working while as a full-time student at a higher education institution; involvement with one or more community-based projects.
This is an entry-level professional position. No professional experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The associate must be a self-starter who will embrace hard work, exhibit a can-do-attitude and thrive in an evolving work environment. Candidate must feel comfortable in interacting with a wide range of civic, community, businesses and non-profit organizations.
Strong work-ethic in which “going above and beyond” is standard; passion for community-based initiatives.
Excellent communication skills – oral and written. Ability to produce clear and compelling pieces, with close attention to audience, goals, messaging, tone, and accuracy.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Suite.
Experience with social media.
Demonstrate ability to develop, innovative, and creative media content across website and social media platforms.

Preferences:
Experience in developing and maintaining social media strategy for an organization.
Development of social media strategy to increase awareness of community
partnerships and public service efforts.
Experience or desire for experience on social analytics platform (HubSpot, Google Analytics, etc.) is a plus.
Graphic design and webmaster knowledge or experience is a plus.
Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
