Summer Program Management Internship with BAE in Washington

Job Description: 

BAE Systems in Washington DC is seeking a summer Intern to provide program management support.  This internship is for a 3 month period (without benefits or relocation offered). Students must be registered in a 4-year university and are eligible for participation in this program after completion of their Sophomore year.

Interns will have the opportunity to develop business administration skills and expand their industry knowledge through hands on experience and are included in the regular daily activities within their respective functional department (i.e. staff meetings, customer meetings (as appropriate), and technical discussions that would pertain to their area of expertise).

Duties are based on discipline and are established under the guidelines of the hiring department. Students will explore career options while gaining exposure within their discipline.

Depending on level, the intern well be required to work on special projects with entry through moderate level complexity under direct supervision of management, which may involve the application of technical, accounting, or budgeting knowledge or similar knowledge/skills pertinent to the function involved. 


Primary Job functions:
1. Support the Program Manager in an administrative and project management tasks.
2. Manage schedule
3. Manage risk registers.
4. Manage issues lists
5. Complete work assignments in a thorough, consistent and punctual manner
6. Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior
7. Adhere to company and professional ethics governing the handling of confidential information and the observation of onfidentiality
8. Maintain professional relationships with company employees, clients and customers, both internal and external
9. Keep management abreast of progress and pending problems
10. Willingness to learn and in a challenging environment and execute to stretch goals.

Required Skills and Education:
Required education: High School/GED

Must be enrolled in a 4 year accredited college/university with at least 1 years completion and with a minimum of a 2.8 GPA.
Good oral and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills
Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
