Paid Internship with American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network

Support the planning and implementation of ACS CAN membership recruitment campaigns and fundraising events through advocacy integration partnerships. Partnership examples could include; Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, Lights of HOPE, Coaches Against Cancer, Relay For Life and Colleges Against Cancer

1. Develop an independent summer project that focuses on a specific program integration partnership
2. Process and enter data information from incoming petitions
3. Support the Lights of HOPE fundraising event logistics and data processing
4. Assist in updating Program Integration team materials
5. Provide research support to Program Integration team as needed
6. Assist in updating facts sheets and other integration slide decks and template materials
7. Assist in organizing and cataloguing Program Integration Team materials in storage
9. Collaborate with other departments to gather feedback, participate in meetings, planning sessions and office activities
10. Other duties as assigned which may include assisting in event planning, meeting preparation, document preparation.
Position Requirements 

Ideally the intern should be a BA or MA student with an interest in advocacy,  campaign development, health promotion or public health.  Must have proficient computer skills; excel expert, video production and graphic design a plus. Excellent organizational, verbal and listening skills are required. Must be able to work with a team both face to face and remote. Experience working with or volunteering for a non-profit is a plus.


All Interns Must meet the following requirements: 
  • Full-time student, if you are an undergraduate student you have completed your freshman year of college;
  • Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale);
  • Plan to continue their education in the following term/semester

Note: an internship assignment may coincide with the student’s last term/trimester, but student must disengage upon graduation.

DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED:
  • Resume 
  • Two references from academic/professional sources addressing the student’s credentials based on the internship’s skill requirements 
  • Recent transcript attesting to their GPA and standing as a full-time student
