Part-time Survey and Assessment Assistant Position for May or Recent Grad with American University

$18 and hour, 20 hour per week position

This position coordinates administrative functions in support of the annual Graduation Census and academic internship programs at American University.
The Assistant works to achieve the highest survey and evaluation response rates possible by researching and connecting with AU students and recent alumni for internship evaluations and graduate census responses.
The Programs Assistant will jointly report to the Assoc. Director of Employer Relations and the Director of Experiential Education in the AU Career Center, and may supervise the work effort of one to two FWS assistants each semester.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Research and conduct outreach to December and May bachelor’s and master’s graduates.
  • Manage the process for the distribution and collection of student internship evaluations.
  • Team effectively with select faculty and staff in the outreach and collection process.
  • Record graduates’ responses to the Graduation Census.
  • Recommend tailored career services to recent grads.
  • Generate and maintain detailed tracking documents and status reports.
  • Triage e-mail correspondence, prepare responses and make referrals to appropriate colleagues.
  • Compile student applications (Eagle Internship Fund) for review by the Director of Experiential Education.
  • Assist the Director of Experiential Education in compiling data for annual reports.
Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Minimum Requirements:
  • One year of relevant professional office experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with contact management systems and social media, particularly LinkedIn
  • Adeptness with systems and processes
  • Exceptional written, verbal, communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated Initiative and a drive for results
Preferred Requirements:
  • Familiarity with AU CareerWeb and an online survey tool (e.g., SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics)
  • Familiarity with Career Services
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position that begins in June and concludes in April 2017.
