Program Associate, Washington Corporate Affairs with Council on Foreign Relations for Recent Grad

The Corporate Program consists of nearly 170 U.S. and foreign corporations from all business sectors, and engages the corporate community in the Council's work. The program provides a high-level forum for corporate members to exchange views with their peers in the private and public sectors on a wide range of wide range of issues at the intersection of business and foreign policy. Members also gain access to information and analysis by Council researchers and other experts.
The principal responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
·         Report to and work closely with Managing Director, Corporate Affairs to ensure the highest level of member interaction
·         Coordinate and work closely with the Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs on all Corporate Program programming, including topic and speaker identification, calendar of events, invitations, etc., as well as designing and executing the annual Corporate Conference
·         Coordinate the development and execution of Washington Corporate Affairs programming (roundtables, conference calls, special events, etc.) on topics at the nexus of business and policy for senior executives from leading global companies and experts from the business community
·         Oversee Washington Corporate Affairs event logistics lifecycle from speaker coordination to event-day and follow-up responsibilities
·         Provide administrative support including scheduling outreach, travel arrangements, and vouchers
·         Coordinate with New York Corporate Affairs team on member stewardship opportunities and other areas
·         Research and remain current on relevant topics and regions for member companies and prospect member companies
·         Maintain, update, and share Corporate Program event statistics regarding meeting attendance, topics, speakers/presiders, etc.
·         Maintain marketing packets and coordinate materials and  updates with the New York Corporate Affairs Team
·         Work closely with other team members and other departments in support of overall departmental priorities and provide assistance across departmental lines upon request
·         Bachelor’s Degree in international affairs, international business, or related field with high academic achievement
·         Minimum one year of related experience including some business experience or relevant experience in a similar organization
·         Strong understanding of the business world, including issues that are at the center of business and policy
·         Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
·         Detail oriented, self-starter with the ability to work effectively both independently and on a team
·         Excellent communication skills, both across departmental lines and with high-profile members and executives
·         Strong proficiency in MS Word, and Excel, knowledge of HTML and database management a plus
·         Flexible schedule to work during early morning and evening events
