Fall 2016, 1-credit course offered Thursdays from 6-7.
BSOS388T: BSOS Sustainability Task Force
The BSOS Sustainability Task Force is a student group offered as a one-credit hands-on, multidisciplinary course in sustainability and is accepting students for the Fall 2016 semester. The group focuses on campus sustainability issues by developing and implementing projects grounded in the social sciences. In previous semesters, students contributed to weekly newsletters or blogs, collaborated on group research projects, wrote grant proposals, and worked on professional development skills including resume-formatting, presenting proposals, facilitating discussions, and communicating sustainability issues. The course is geared to meet student needs and interests, thus the specific content and project goals for the Fall 2016 semester will be developed as a group in the first several weeks of class.
The course will meet once per week, Thursdays from 6-7 in Tydings 3100. Students should expect to spend at least one hour per week outside of meeting time to work on and accomplish tasks; they should also expect to communicate with their group members outside of class time to meet their goals successfully. New or returning members of the Sustainability Task Force are welcome. Please contact Adriane Michaelis (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any questions and to obtain permission to register for BSOS388T.
