Paid Fall Housing Finance Policy Internship with the Urban Institute
The Urban Institute's Housing Finance Policy Center (HFPC) was established to provide timely, impartial data and analysis, and to educate policymakers and the public on how the housing finance system affects households, communities and the broader economy. The goal of HFPC is to produce analyses and ideas that foster sound public policy, efficient markets, and economic opportunity.
HFPC seeks an intern with interests in the nation's housing and housing finance markets coupled with a strong analytical and research background. This is a paid, temporary, and part-time position during Fall 2016.
The intern will support researchers through conducting literature reviews, compiling and analyzing quantitative data, and contributing to the writing of research papers and blogs that will be published under the Housing Finance Policy Center brand. In addition to these duties, s/he will also assist with other critical functions of the center including communications, development, and general project support. Other duties as assigned.
Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in an economics, public policy, finance, or statistics field. Original research or demonstrated interest in original research a plus, but not required.
Must have excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills. SAS or Stata programming experience is preferred. Interested candidates should provide a resume, cover letter, and relevant writing sample.
