Program Assistant for MENA Region Position with Partners Global for Recent Grad

Position description

  • Assist MENA Director with scheduling, correspondence, meeting minutes, travel arrangements, and other administrative items as needed;
  • Carry out logistics, invitations, and planning for public events and roundtables related to the MENA region;
  • Contribute to communications and outreach materials, including blogs, impact flyers, and one-pagers;
  • Aid Program Managers and PartnersGlobal's finance department in reviewing monthly financial reports and preparing advance requests, wire forms, travel authorizations, credit card reconciliations, and expense reports;
  • Provide support to MENA team Managers and Associates in tasks related to implementing Partners' programs in the MENA region, including projects in Yemen, the Gulf region, Iraq, and other regional initiatives;
  • Liaise with local partners and affiliates in programmatic updates, business development efforts, and the financial report review process;
  • Participate in the design and development of new programs including background research, proposal writing, budget creation; development of M&E plans, and other associated tasks;
  • Attend relevant conferences and meetings as appropriate;
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned such as meeting follow-ups, preparation of presentations and talking points, copy-editing, etc.


  • A minimum of 1-2 years of related administrative experience in the field of international development;
  • Advanced degree preferred but not required;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and competency in one or more of Partners' program areas (e.g. conflict resolution, civil society, good governance, environment) preferred;
  • Excellent oral and writing skills with ability to express complex ideas clearly;
  • Arabic language skills preferred but not required;
  • Professional background in MENA region strongly desired;
  • Experience managing budgets and generating financial documents, such as expense reports, advance requests, and credit card reconciliations;
  • High level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with U.S. and foreign national staff and civil society, government and the private sector actors;
  • Ability to both work independently and contribute to the broader team;
  • Ability to analyze, problem-solve, manage, and prioritize work;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines;
  • Responds to tasks and any issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US
