Research and Communications Assistant Position with the Institute for Communitarian Policy Studies for Recent Grad

The Institute for Communitarian Policy Studies (ICPS) at the George Washington University is a research institute dedicated to finding constructive solutions to social problems through morally informed policy analysis and moral dialogue. We seek to bring the best scholarship and analysis to bear on policy issues affecting family, schools, the community, and the moral climate of society as a whole. We are searching for a full-time Research and Communications Assistant to add to our ICPS team. The incumbent will be under the immediate supervision of Director Amitai Etzioni and will assist him both with conducting secondary research to construct both long academic articles and shorter opinion pieces on a wide range of topics, and with leading our major outreach campaigns. Basic job functions include:
  • researching and copyediting assignments discussing anything from domestic politics to foreign policy to technology/privacy law.
  • Conducting outreach to relevant think tanks and other academics who may be interested in our work and future collaboration.
  • Managing our social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) as well as our website.
  • Providing minor support at ICPS events, which may occur once or twice a semester.
