Paid Member Leadership Programs Intern (American Association of University Women)

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is the nation’s leading voice promoting equity and education for women and girls. Since its founding in 1881, AAUW members have examined and taken positions on the fundamental issues of the day — educational, social, economic, and political.

AAUW’s Member Leadership Programs department (MLP) supports and strengthens AAUW member leaders by offering leadership programs and training for leaders at all levels. MLP provides leadership development through in person trainings, webinars, and online resources. Essential Duties
• Provide support for the member trainers program, a national network of member leaders who facilitate leadership training for their AAUW branch and/or state:
o Support trainers by email and phone to orient them to the curriculum and help them prepare for trainings
o Track trainer participation, process and analyze evaluation data, collect impact data, and facilitate discussion on social media
o Assist with resource creation and webinar facilitation for this audience
• Assist in the marketing, logistics, curriculum creation, and evaluation of webinars and in-person trainings for AAUW volunteer leaders
• Assist in the coordination of 40+ staff-led workshops and a one-day conference for state leaders for AAUW’s biennial National Convention, including workshop review, and a preparation training series for staff
• Coordinate updates to existing curriculum and online resources to improve consistency and usability
• Assist in the preparation and writing of Lead On, AAUW’s monthly e-newsletter for all member leaders

Minimum Qualifications
• Experience or interest in leadership development, curriculum development, training, and/or as a volunteer/student leader
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, professional demeanor, strong sense of self-direction and independence
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• A minimum of 30 hours per week is strongly desired, and preference will be given to interns available for the full 37.5 hours per week. Interns are paid on an hourly basis
