Policy Assistant Position for Recent Grad with the Center for US Global Leadership
The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC), a broad-based network of 400 businesses and NGOs; national security and foreign policy experts; and business, faith-based, academic and community leaders, seeks to hire an entry- to mid-level applicant to join the Policy Team. The position provides the opportunity to contribute to USGLC's advocacy work in "Impact 2016," a bipartisan campaign focused on engaging presidential and congressional campaigns on America's role in the world, and to strategic engagement with the next U.S. Administration and Congress on elevating and strengthening diplomacy and development in American foreign policy.
Collaborate in ongoing analysis of policy developments, including written materials such as issue summaries, briefing memos and talking points;
Assist Policy Director in engagement with Executive Branch agencies supported by the International Affairs Budget and working with them on global challenges.
Assist Policy Director in strengthening USGLC's National Security Advisory Council of over 170 retired three and four star general and flag officers;
Provide research assistance on special projects relating to U.S. foreign policy, global development, and economic prosperity;
Contribute to and author blog posts.
Other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to international relations, global development or international business and emerging markets and will possess the ability to manage projects independently within a team environment. Capitol Hill or political campaign experience a plus. Excellent writing, research, communications, and organizational skills are required. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
