Internships with Partners for Development in Silver Spring

Partners for Development (PfD) is currently recruiting for an intern to start immediately and two to start in Winter 2017. Interns at PfD are an integral part of the team and will have the opportunity to learn and gain hands-on experience in the field of international development.
Because PfD is a small office of generally no more than five staff, we put a premium on candidates who are self-reliant and excellent problem-solvers.
In general, an intern may be expected to assist in three areas:
  1. Communications and Business Development
  2. Program Support and Research
  3. Administrative Support

SPECIFIC DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
  1. Communications and Business Development
    • Update website and social media
    • Update organizational fact sheets
    • Assist in researching foundation and corporate prospects
    • Assist in planning staff travel
    • Contributing to blog posts, if desired
    • Attendance at relevant external meetings and events and note-taking
  2. Program Support and Research
    • Conduct research on countries where PfD is operational
    • Assist in procurement as necessary
    • Assist Executive Director as necessary
    • Edit reports and program fact sheets.
  3. Administrative Support
    • Assist in administrative tasks as necessary
    • Maintain resume database and help process resumes
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Masters candidate or advanced degree candidate preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated interest in international relief and development
  • Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
  • Self-reliant problem solver
  • Team player
  • Ability to thrive in a multiple deadline, sometimes stressful environment
