The National Democratic Institute for International Affairs (NDI) encourages enthusiastic self-starters with a strong interest in gender, women and democracy to submit a cover letter and resume for a paid internship as a Project Assistant with NDI's Gender, Women and Democracy (GWD) program.
The full-time internship is based in NDI's Washington, DC office and requires a 40-hour commitment per week. Project Assistants in the GWD program are given substantive responsibilities and are expected to be professional contributors to the wide ranging efforts of this small team. They must be disciplined and pro-active, able to accept assignments and run with them quickly, occasionally under pressure; they also need to know when to seek guidance before proceeding. Project Assistants are encouraged to attend workshops, lectures and other staff development events at NDI and across DC.
The GWD program is looking for an individual, preferably with a background in technology, who is available from mid-December 2016 to mid-March 2017. There is a possibility of continuation until mid-June 2017 for individuals with exceptional work performance.
Please include both a cover letter and resume (attached as .pdf or .doc file) with your application. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
The application deadline is November 21, 2016. Interviews will be conducted the week of November 28th, 2016. Apply here.
