Research Assistant Position for Recent Grad with More options U.S. Overseas Cooperative Development Council

Job Responsibilities:
Carries out research as required, assists in the design and coordination of research projects; coordinates and manages communications activities; provides project management support, including the management of contractors.
Research:
  • Works collaboratively and under the direction of the Research Director to implement the OCDC Research Agenda as approved by the OCDC Executive Director, Board of Directors and OCDC committees;
  • Carries out research activities related to current or potential Research Group projects;
  • Assists with collection of primary and secondary data, including document review, interviews, focus groups, and surveys;
  • Assists with quantitative and qualitative data analysis;
  • Carries out other research-related functions.
 Project Management:
  • Develops and monitors contractual agreements and other activities related to USAID, other funders and funding intermediaries of the Research Group;
  • Manages, organizes, and maintains a research library and assists with ongoing internal knowledge management;
  • Identifies and communicates with cooperative research and development partners, potential partners, and related contacts;
  • Develops and monitors contractual agreements with partners and consultants, including scopes of work, timelines, budgets, project reports and other project-related activities.
 Communications:
  • Supervises and carries out the preparation of Research Group newsletters and other communications to OCDC members, partners, cooperative research and development organizations and individuals, funders and potential funders, and others interested in Research Group activities;
  • Ensures that website content is current and timely and that research page is continuously updated to reflect activities;
  • Provides input into the design, content and strategy of the Research Group website, working with the Research Director and OCDC consultants;
  • Carries out other communications-related activities, including the preparation of PowerPoint presentations, promotional materials, and similar activities.
 Coordination:
  • Provides staff support and coordination services for the Research Advisory Committee and the OCDC Collaborative Group;
  • Manages relationships with Collaborative Group members and supports the effective sharing of information, tools, resources and stories both in-person and through an online collaboration platform;
  • Plans events and staffs OCDC Research Group meetings;
  • Develops and updates a central database for relationship management related to the Research Group;
  • Assists with other logistical and administrative duties, as needed.
 Qualifications
  • BA in international development or equivalent, with demonstrated knowledge of cooperative development preferred; MA with previous qualifications preferred.
  • Demonstrated communications experience and familiarity with website design and social media
  • Demonstrated social science and survey research experience.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods in a research context.
  • Field work experience.
  • Experience working across cultures.
  • Foreign language fluency, with Spanish or Polish preferred.
