with epilepsy and seizure disorders, seeks an intern to work in the Government Relations
department for the spring or summer 2017.
Epilepsy Foundation interns will be exposed to many aspects of federal and state policymaking,
and will have the opportunity to:
- Conduct research on federal and state legislation to further our advocacy work.
- Write action alerts and legislative updates for our grassroots network.
- Craft website and social media content.
- Assist in preparations for our annual Public Policy Institute and Teens Speak Up! Conference, a great opportunity to help teens become advocates for the epilepsy community.
Previous experience in the nonprofit, public policy sector, or in a congressional office is
preferred, but not required. This is an unpaid internship, but the Epilepsy Foundation will
provide a transportation subsidy and work with educational institutions to help interns obtain
course credit for their work. We prefer interns who can make a commitment of at least 10-12
hours a week. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors are eligible to apply. No international studies
majors, please. The Epilepsy Foundation is located in Landover, Maryland, and is metro-
accessible from the Orange Line on the D.C. Metro.
If you are interested in applying, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your resume, a cover
letter, and a 3-5 page writing sample where you are the primary author. We look forward to
bringing in an intern to join our team.
