Program Development Officer with Relief International for Recent IR Grad

Location: Washington DC

Reports to:  Vice President, Program Development

About RI: Relief International (RI) is a home to teams of humanitarian activist-professionals committed to transforming adversity into renewal for the world’s most vulnerable populations. 

Position Summary: Responsible for providing wide range of support to both the Program Development team with research, communications, editing, external contacts, data tracking, proposal production, and other tasks as needed.
  • Support recruitment process of candidates for inclusion in RI proposals
  • Create, update, and/or maintain databases of consultants and proposal candidates
  • Assist in preparation of proposals, including, but not limited to editing and review of proposal narratives, budget preparation, and annexes
  • Conduct research related to specific program sectors, as needed
  • Research and evaluate potential international partners
  • Track and update potential PD opportunities and awards
  • Provide analysis of donor trends 

  • Bachelor’s degree –International Relations or related field preferred but not required
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and carefully review work for accuracy
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to act independently to identify and analyze problems and recommend solutions
  • Must be able to work in the United States for any employer without requiring sponsorship
