Public Health Campaigns Intern

The Baltimore City Health Department seeks an intern to assist with its public health campaigns. The Campaigns Intern will assist in the outreach and training of individuals in combating Zika and preventing overdose through administering naloxone. The intern will lead trainings and recruit community members to be Zika Ambassadors, while assisting in tracking data, regarding the aforementioned campaigns, as well as other issue campaigns, such as the development of a citywide strategy to address trauma. This internship will consist of 15-20 hours per week for 3 to 6 months. This is an unpaid position, but is a perfect opportunity for a student seeking graduation credit, volunteer hours, or practicum requirements. 

Candidate Requirements
-Great public speaking and presentation skills
-Research experience
-Experience using PowerPoint and Excel spreadsheets
-Ability to travel within the city limits and work evenings as needed

Candidate Desirables
-The ideal candidate would have, or be pursuing, a degree in Sociology, Public Health, or Public Administration
-Experience conducting brief trainings
-A strong interest in public health
-Awareness of the effects of trauma and Baltimore City residents
