Fall Social Media Internship with Subject Matter

SUBJECT MATTER is seeking a part-time SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN to join our Content Team. In this position, you will work with our talented team of writers, editors and digital experts to create and distribute targeted content to audiences across digital outlets and social media platforms. We are not looking for someone to fill a slot or to do mundane tasks. We want your energy and ideas. We want to hear what you’ve learned. We will have you working on our diverse client roster, and doing so will provide on-the-job training in non-profits, government and the corporate world. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn how to cultivate storytelling skills for social media, understand the basics of digital media advertising and learn about the ins and outs of the creative advocacy business.

Requirements:

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, eager to work in a fast-paced environment and wants to make valuable contributions to a wide range of internal and external projects. Sense of humor is a plus, and collaboration is a must. If you’re willing to try, we’re willing to let you try. If you have the best idea in the room, it will win the day. Applicants should work hard, be organized and come willing to learn. We are seeking applicants who are enrolled in a university program or have recently finished their studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall tasks will include but are not limited to:
  • Copy editing
  • Drafting and scheduling social media posts
  • Writing short-form posts for the Subject Matter blog
  • Summarizing news stories and research to inform communications campaigns
  • Creating social media influencer lists
  • Gathering and analyzing campaign performance data
  • Brainstorming ideas for campaigns and editorial content
