PAID Internship – Latinos and Society Program at the Aspen Institute

The Aspen Institute, founded in 1950, is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering enlightened leadership and open-minded dialogue. The Latinos and Society Program was founded in 2015 to foster learning about American Latinos and to elevate their role in solving the country's most critical problems.
This paid internship is for 16 hours per week. Principal duties are as follows:
* Assist in constituent database management, including a transfer from an existing database to a new one, update individual constituent profiles, and prepare large Excel sheets for export into the database;
* Complete projects relating to program outreach and partnerships, including collecting contact information and drafting correspondences;
* Perform research that supports Latinos and Society programming and fundraising efforts;
* Support team with updating and monitoring Latinos and Society website and social media;
* Assist in tasks related to event planning and execution, including organizing day-of event volunteers and tasks;
* Perform administrative duties as they arise, including fielding calls when the team is out of town;
* Other duties as assigned.

A successful candidate will possess the following skills and/or attributes:
* Solid administrative skills
* Demonstrated ability to organize and sort large amounts of data using Excel; experience with other database platforms preferred
* Experience with populating, monitoring, and strategizing on the use of social media and other communications platforms
* Excellent attention to detail; ability to cross-check multiple sets of data
* Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills
* Superb research and problem solving skills for identifying and locating hard-to-reach information
* Ability to work well independently and with others
* Self-starter who is motivated to excel with both small and large tasks
* Pleasant telephone manner
* Completed at least two internships
* Currently in a relevant undergraduate or graduate course of study
