Paid Fall Development Internship with New America

New America is seeking a paid Development intern who will work on a variety of projects to support New America’s development and fundraising activities.  
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Researching individual, foundation, and corporate donors and prospects 
  • Updating Salesforce (SF) individual, organization, and event records 
  • Updating engagement history and opportunities in donor records
  • Assisting with corporate engagement strategy--researching and pulling together packets
  • Assisting with national and regional foundation research for organization and program and initiative level opportunities
  • Assisting with the individual donor solicitation groups--merging letters, gathering enclosures, assembling packets, etc.
Qualifications:
  • Current student at accredited college or university or possessing relevant professional experience;
  • An interest in fundraising, non-profit management, and/or business administration 
  • Work or internship experience in an office setting or another non-profit 
  • Ability to work full-time or near full-time for at least ten weeks 
  • Internet research skills, must be a web-savvy;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel, and Google Docs
  • Experience using a database (not required), Familiarity with Salesforce will be a plus
  • Experience with fundraising,
  • Attention to detail,
  • A sense of humor,
  • Good time management skills, and
  • Eagerness to learn.
  • S/he should be a self-starter with a positive attitude who can take on projects with minimal supervision.
