2019 UMD Homecoming Community Service Event

Join Terps Against Hunger (TAH) on Sunday, October 27th and Monday October 28th for our 6th annual Homecoming Community Service Event! This will be part two of a two-day event, during which we'll pack 200,000 meals for local children and families suffering from food insecurity. All meals we pack will be distributed through our network of over 15 local partners who make sure that our meal make it to the communities that need them most. We work with the Capital Area Food Bank, Maryland Food Bank, DC Central Kitchen, Manna Food Center, and many more. TAH is a student-run organization at UMD. Since we began packing meals on campus in December 2013, TAH has engaged over 16,000 volunteers to pack over 2,950,000 meals.

The event will run from 9:45AM - 5:00PM on the 27th and 10:45AM - 6:00PM on the 27th. Both days will be held basketball court at the Ritchie Coliseum, and is open to all members of our community including UMD students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents/family members, and local community members. We've had volunteers as young as 4 and as old as 90 years old. Please help us spread the word and invite your friends to join you in fighting local hunger! To make registration easier this year, we are asking each volunteer to sign up individually. You will still be able to volunteer with your group!
