Internship with Senator Ed Markey

Job Description: The Washington, D.C. office of Senator Ed Markey is seeking qualified part-time or full-time interns for the Spring 2020 term. Interns will assist with legislative and administrative work by serving Massachusetts constituents, researching legislative initiatives and drafting replies to constituent inquiries. They will regularly be attending committee hearings, briefings, and meetings with legislative staffers, as well as assisting with a variety of legislative or press projects. Interns are assigned to work with senior legislative assistants based on issue interests or expertise. Paid internships are awarded to income restricted students or to those who may not otherwise be able to afford to live or work in Washington, D.C. Requirements: Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students and should be responsible self-starters who possess strong writing, research, and interpersonal skills. Backgrounds in political science, international relations, environmental studies, and communications are all desirable but not required. Massachusetts ties are strongly preferred.
