Full-time job opportunity: Human Resources Coordinator

POSITION DESCRIPTION
The St. James is actively seeking a HR Coordinator at its Springfield, VA location. The St. James is the premier sports, wellness and active entertainment destination in the country, with 450,000 sq. ft. of developmental and competitive programs, teams and opportunities in more than 30 sports, and a wide range of premium fitness, wellness and entertainment experiences.
The HR Coordinator will be responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, affirmative action and employment law compliance. The HR Coordinator will work directly for the HR Manager at The St. James.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help plan training & development
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews 
  • Create and manage the offer letter process 
  • Provide support to employees in various HR related topics such as leaves, compensation etc. and resolve issues and problems 
  • Promote HR programs and initiatives to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace 
  • Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies 
  • Undertake tasks in performance management 
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics 
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form 
  • Update marketing with monthly employee birthdays 
  • Keep company directory up to date 
  • Assist with special projects as needed 
  • Be the first point of contact for HR related queries 
  • Support the safety of all members, guests and employees 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1 – 2 years professional experience (internship experience counts) 
  • Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations 
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills 
  • Customer-focused attitude, with high level of professionalism and discretion 
  • Familiarity with MS Office suite 
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Bilingual Spanish speaker preferred 
  • Background check and drug screen required 
  • Knowledgeable of safety training, procedures and best practices used throughout the sports and wellness industry.
