As an undergraduate student at UMD, I know that with the all the trouble the coronavirus pandemic has been causing, sometimes we could all use a break. Even if it's just for a half an hour, everyone needs some time to practice self-care, especially now! In addition to self-care, it's also important to help keep young children learning during the shift to online studies. That is why I'm offering free, 30-minute tutoring/educational sessions for children of all ages. Whether it's just reading them an age-appropriate story, teaching them some basics in Chinese, or helping them with their schoolwork, I want to do what I can to help give parents and caretakers a break! Session topics can include (but are not limited to): math, life sciences (including psychology, neurology/neuroscience, research methods/designs, biology, anatomy, physiology, etc.), English, American history, animal care and training, social studies, and Chinese.
If you or someone you know might be interested in this, please email Alex at email@example.com for more details and/or to schedule a session. Sessions are available via Zoom, FaceTime, or Skype. Additionally, feel free to pass this on to other members of the Terp community that you think might be interested! (However, I do ask that this is contained only to the Terrapin community, as I am a full-time undergraduate at UMD and want to help as many people in my community as possible while still allowing enough time for my own studies.)
