Marketing and Events Undergraduate Intern - Virtual Internship
The University Career Center (UCC) at the University of Maryland seeks to employ an undergraduate assistant to support the UCC’s marketing and events initiatives and UMD campus partners. The Marketing and Events Intern will report to the Career Events Coordinator, Kenyatta Malloy,
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Be available to work up to 10-15 hours per week.
1. Events: Support signature events of the center and campus partners as assigned (i.e., Virtual career
fairs, “Careers in…” panels, etc.). Assist with event planning.
2. Content: Assist with editing and curating content for web, video, social, newsletters, brochures, and similar projects to tell the UCC story. Research and curate content and information.
3. Web/Social Media: Assist in updating and monitoring social media platforms as well as UCC event
calendar updates. Generate analytics reports.
4. Performs administrative duties as requested.
Working toward a bachelor's degree in English, marketing, communication, journalism, or related
Ability to work with standard office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet)
Superior writing, editing, and verbal language skills (AP style)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, meet challenging deadlines and handle multiple projects
Ability to understand marketing research and the capability to analyze and present data analytics
is a plus.
