Are you interested in exploring qualitative and quantitative sustainability data? As a Measurement and Assessment intern in the Office of Sustainability, you will have the opportunity to create data sets, learn and practice data analysis skills, and create visual data stories. You will support efforts to report on the University’s sustainability initiatives, including the AASHE STARS Report, the Greenhouse Gas Inventory, and the SustainableUMD Progress Report. Through these projects, you will have opportunities to network with professionals in a variety of sustainability-related fields. The total time commitment is 10 hours per week. This internship will likely be fully online for Fall 2020.
To Apply: Email your resume and cover letter to Sally DeLeon at email@example.com. If you have samples of data analysis work (visualizations, data-intensive reports (1-2 pages max) or other examples), provide them with your application. Include in your cover letter or resume any sustainability fields of interest, courses you’ve taken that have increased your understanding of data or sustainability concepts, and any data skills you would like to learn or practice over the course of the internship.
Prerequisites: Interns must be current University of Maryland graduate or undergraduate students. Students in all majors are encouraged to apply. A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA is recommended.
